4 Gadgets Your Home Office Shouldn’t Be Without

People who work in home offices don’t always have equipment that they need to improve their productivity and health. You shouldn’t suffer because you work from home: Add the following four gadgets to your home office.

Ergonomic office Chair

An Ergonomic Chair

You’re not going to spend all day standing, so you also need an ergonomic chair that encourages you to sit properly. Using an ergonomic chair can reduce the neck, back, and hip pain that many people experience after long hours at work.

Understandably, ergonomic chairs cost more than regular chairs. If you’ll get to focus on your work instead of worrying about back pain, though, spending the extra money is worth not having to suffer from pain at the end of the day.

Standing office desk

Many doctors believe that sitting for too many hours can lead to serious health problems. Ideally, you should spend four hours of your workday standing. Many people who work in offices sit throughout their shifts. They may get up and walk around during their breaks, but they don’t get enough exercise to offset the harm of sitting for so many hours.

Adding a standing desk to your office is the easiest way to make sure you spend less time sitting while you work. In return for your investment, you get lower risks of cardiovascular disease, Type 2 diabetes, and cancer.

Darma Sit Smart

Once you add a comfortable chair to your home office, you may need a reminder to stand up and move around. Darma makes a seat cushion that will make sure you stay active. The cushion monitors your sitting habits during the day so it can encourage you to choose a better posture and walk around when you need some exercise.

Darm’s cushion can also track your heart rate, breathing rate, and stress level to help you make healthier decisions during the workday. This smart gadget communicates with your smartphone to keep you informed of various health data.

Air purifier

An Air Purifier

Research shows that employees become more productive when they work in offices with healthy air. Unfortunately, indoor air is usually more polluted than outdoor air. Over time, pollutants such as dust, smoke, and pet dander may accumulate in your home office. Since a constant breeze doesn’t exist to move the pollutants away, you breathe in unhealthy air.

You can solve this problem by buying a whole-home air cleaner or a small air purifier that cleans the air in your office. Many large companies already use this approach so that they can boost their employees’ health. You can use the same technology to make yourself more productive at home.

You don’t have to become obsessed with high-tech gadgets to make your home office a healthier, more productive place. Start by focusing on the equipment that will benefit you most. You may discover that you like standing so much that you don’t need an ergonomic chair. Regardless of which items you prefer, the four gadgets listed above will make your home office and work life better.

Hey Jayant, Thanks for your comment! Indeed, the Ergonomic chair is quite a fancy office gadget that not everyone will be able to invest. It’s more something for enthusiastic users 😀
