Superspeed Aluminum USB 3.0 3-Port Hub

The tiny USB device comes in an Apple-style design that matches Apple’s design form factor. Because USB ports are never enough, this USB 3.0 Hub can be used to easily extend available USB ports for your MacBook Pro/Air/Mini or iMac computer.

3 USB Ports and 1 Ethernet Port

The hub provides 3x 3.0 USB ports and 1 Ethernet port (1Gbps) that can transfer files and data with a transfer speed up to 5Gbps.

Plug & Play

Thanks to Plug & Play and Hot Swap, the Hub device is ready to use easily. Just connect it to the computer when needed and remove it when done. There are no additional software tools necessary to install in order to use the device. Built-in software protects connected devices by surge protector and device safeguard. The status of the device is indicated by a LED light. This way, the user will notice transfer actions instantly.

Dimensions

The USB hub is 4.5 inches (11.5 cm) long and 1 inch (2.6 cm) in height. 2 USB ports (USB 3.0) are located on the front side, 1 USB (USB 3.0) is located on the rear side. The 1Gbps Ethernet port is located on the short end on the opposite side of the hub cable. The computer cable that connects the hub with the computer is 15 feet long.

Compatibility

The USB 3.0 Hub device is compatible with Windows, Mac and Linux. For Windows users, the device can be used with Windows 8.1, 8.0, 7, Vista and even Windows XP operating systems. For Apple Mac users, Mac OS X 10.6 – 10.9 are supported. Linux users with kernel version 2.6.14 or higher can use it easily with their Linux OS distribution.

Review conclusion

The USB 3.0 Superspeed Aluminium Hub from 1byOne is a nice and affordable option to extend your USB 3.0 ports of your Windows, Apple or Linux computer. It is very easy to use and with its tiny size also convenient for travels. In our product review test, we measured a maximum transfer rate of 4.9Gbps which is almost the maximum transfer speed stated by the manufacturer.
