How Hadoop Has Transformed the Salesforce Data Transfer Process

Salesforce is arguably the world’s top-ranked customer relationship management platform based on the cloud. It comprises a suite of applications that allow a wide range of customization and support for business processes. Endowed with unmatched speed, efficiency, and accuracy, the CRM platform has found huge acceptance by businesses of different sizes all across the world for lending superior insights into customer behavior and service.

Big data management, an integral part of effective CRM has also been radically changed by Hadoop, an open source programming framework running on Java. Hadoop’s immense success is substantially due to its open-source and high-popular MapReduce technology that permits quick and easy access to voluminous data and delivers extremely dependable answers to complex queries. Hadoop, it is universally agreed, has taken the science of data management to a different level altogether.

Integration of Hadoop with Salesforce

With the recent integration of the key elements of Hadoop by technology leaders of the likes of Cloudera and Hortonworks, data management has become a lot easier and reliable. This development is the beginning of yet another chapter of making large volume data easier to handle and get answers out of. Management of bulky databases is now far easier for both lay users and IT professionals.

The importance of Hadoop’s integration with Salesforce lies in the ability of Hadoop being able to successfully overcome the limitations that Salesforce had in the amount of data that could be imported into the platform. Hadoop has also been able to reduce the time taken to process large volumes of data that every contemporary business tends to accumulate from multiple sources. Hadoop incorporates robust functionalities allowing the manipulation of transactional data residing in Salesforce for analysis and saving. The biggest challenge for users is the smooth integration of the various components of SalesforceDX and Hadoop that would allow them to seamlessly analyze the humongous volume of data generated by large enterprises across functions. With Hadoop implementations like the cloud support by Informatica and other big data management specialists that are collaborating with Salesforce, deployment time can now be significantly slashed.

Data Migration from Salesforce to Hadoop

The migration of Salesforce data to Hadoop clusters involves multiple challenges. However, there are simultaneously a lot more database integration opportunities, for example, the combination of data of Salesforce with business data of specific domains as well as transactional data. The availability of a large number of tools and customizable solutions, however, can make the data migration process easier than it appears. For example, there are a number of command-line tools that can be used to import Salesforce data into Hadoop file systems. These tools also have the advantage of being able to support all data types, including custom data.

Conclusion

Hadoop with its special ability to manage large files and data volumes efficiently has taken big data management to a new level of performance. The integration of Hadoop with Salesforce has further simplified large data manipulation and made possible the development of new applications that provide easy solutions to enterprise data management issues.

This article is a combination of terminology that doesn’t make any sense. What kind of an “expert” can combine “users”, “integration”, “SalesforceDX”, and “Hadoop” in a single sentence?
