Innovations to Invade the Real Money Gaming World in 2016

Last year has seen the rise of a series of fresh technologies. Wearable devices have become more common, with smartwatches and fitness bands becoming a new standard. Virtual and augmented reality are taking huge steps toward becoming a standard, imposing themselves on more than just the gaming market. And companies are starting to embrace these new technologies, offering their customers new ways to access their services.

The real money gaming industry has undergone a major evolution since its inception in the mid-1990s. What started out as a handful of games, sent out to users on CDs by post, has turned into the accessible platform we know today. Now there are hundreds of Microgaming online games available at Royal Vegas just a click away – players don’t even need to download and install anything. All the action happens in a browser window. Besides, players can also access the Royal Vegas game library using their smartphones, playing whenever they want, wherever they are. But the industry’s evolution is far from being over.

Microgaming, the company that provides the Royal Vegas with its huge game library, is always searching to embrace new technology. Known as one of the most innovative developers in the industry, it has last year explored the new paths of bringing their content closer to the player. Microgaming has released two of its most popular slot machines through the Royal Vegas, taking the first step toward conquering this new medium. But its innovations haven’t stopped here.

In a consistent piece published in the Business Reporter last year, Microgaming’s CEO Roger Raatgever has outlined the direction the company plans to take in the future. He spoke of the new level of interactivity aimed by the company, using the emerging virtual reality platforms, mentioning a new breed of slot machines developed for Oculus Rift and Google Cardboard headsets. Besides, the company has also created a brand new virtual casino game, allowing players to (virtually) step into a casino room and use their hands to place bets and collect wins. Raatgever expects wearable devices to go from curios to mainstream in the coming years. He doesn’t try to predict a timetable for mass adoption, but keep the company he runs “ahead of the curve”.

Real money gaming software is today available on all possible platforms – desktop, portable and wearable alike. And all this evolution was achieved in two decades, making use of the technology at hand. What lies ahead? Well, there’s no way to know – but there will always be innovators who will make the best use of new technologies, no matter the industry they represent.
