The Post-Samsung Galaxy S4 Predictions for the iPhone 5S

Samsung surprised a huge amount of An-drones in New York last week with a new smartphone called the Samsung Galaxy S4 (as we’ve always expected it to be called). The Galaxy S4 is thinner, lighter and heavier inside but looks a lot like the Galaxy S3 on the outside. Also, many technology experts say the iPhone 5S is underway and will have a product release in June or July!

Samsung Galaxy S4 review and compare with Apple iPhone 5

So what will we be seeing in the next iPhone? Honestly, there is not enough information on the iPhone 5S, but we have gathered some predictions in the nooks and crannies of the Internet to see what kind of iPhone 5S we could see after the official entry of the Samsung Galaxy S4.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Storm

Suffice it to say that the Galaxy S4 shows great strength in the smartphone arena early on and Apple will struggle to compete with them. For example, the Galaxy S4 is almost like a powerhouse mini-computer with an octa-core 1.6 GHz processor (overseas smartphone markets) and a 1.9 GHz quad-core processor (U.S. smartphone markets). It also has 2 GB of RAM and can carry up to 128 GB of storage because it will be available in 16, 32 and 64 GB but also be expandable to up to 64 GB through its microSD card slot. It runs on the latest Android operating system, 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

To top it all off, it also has a whopping 13 MP rear camera that almost surpasses the capacity of a normal point and shoot camera. It also has a 2 MP camera on the upper front side. Meanwhile, the Galaxy S4 boasts of new and better innovations with one-of-a-kind features such as: Air View, which allows the user to control the device through gestures with the hands without touching the screen; Samsung Scroll, which allows users to scroll down their email or inbox by simply tilting the device down; Samsung Pause, which helps the user pause the scrolling gesture by simply staring at the screen; and Samsung Smart Stay, which was also present on the previous Samsung Galaxy smartphone.

Predictions of iPhone 5S After the Storm

It is probably safe to say that Apple Inc.’s design team could be recreating the iPhone 5S by doing another screen size transformation since the smartphone arena is full of competitors with big, powerful displays. But it’s still a crazy idea since we have seen Apple throughout the years be very strict when it comes to company traditions. On the other hand, it is very likely that the screen of the next iPhone will be produced by Sharp, which will integrate the display’s touch screen sensors directly into the LED panel. This will then help in thinning the display and will allow for a bigger battery and thus, better battery life.

We have also heard reports that say Apple is planning on a new technology that will boost its security functions by using fingerprints to unlock the iPhone. The iPhone 5S could also have a 13 MP rear camera to compete with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and might also have a processing chip from Qualcomm (the Snapdragon processor) although an Apple A7 is still very likely to appear in the next iPhone keynote.

Will It Sell?

The next question to ask now is: Which device will sell this year? The Samsung Galaxy S4 may have wowed audiences upon its unveiling but will it actually be sellable come second quarter? Will Samsung be able to persuade iPhone users to abandon the brand and move on to Android? And if the iPhone 5S makes an appearance come June or July, will it be able to compete with the Galaxy S4 in terms of sales? We’ve got tons of questions left unanswered for now.

The Galaxy S4 is certainly an impressive device and without a change in design (i.e. an increase in screen size) I feel like the iPhone 5S is going to be behind from the start.

After the storm created by Galaxy S4, its Apple’s turn to surprise us. The features of Galaxy S4 are super awesome and Apple will have to come up with an exceptional device this time to compete with Samsung.
