Samsung Galaxy S4: To buy or not to buy?

After months of anticipation and rumors, Samsung was finally able to launch its latest player in the Smartphone arena. The Samsung Galaxy S4 was expected to be the gadget that will revolutionize and continuously raise the standard when it comes these gadgets.white color model of Galaxy S4 from Samsung

In fact, gadget analysts and enthusiasts were eager to see if the S4 will break the winning streak of Apple’s iPhone. While it is true that the latest version looks pretty much like its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S3, you will still be able to easily notice the differences. To help you better evaluate (and decide if it’s worth buying), here’s a quick review.

Display

On top of the list of Samsung innovation is its stand out display features. Samsung Galaxy S4 is the first gadget to have an AMOLED display with high definition resolution. Cool, right? But what does this actually mean? AMOLED display brings a higher pixel per inch (PPI) value to its display screen. From Galaxy S3’s 306 PPI, the latest Samsung Smartphone has 441 PPI. Also, the S4’s display uses pentile arrangement; meaning, each pixel carries 2 colors instead of the typical 3 colors per pixel. This may reduce the resolution per pixel, but the higher pixel count compensates well for this. This improvement helps users to clearly see the person on the other line during a video call. At the same time. It makes viewing videos and pictures better.

For those who have problems with the display’s brightness, it is no longer an issue for Galaxy S4. With the notification bar always having the brightness adjustment button, users will be able to easily control and change the brightness level of their display screen according to their preference. For user customization and styling users can download free high definition Galaxy S4 wallpapers directly on their smartphone.

Eye-scroll feature

Another first from Samsung is its eye scrolling feature. This feature allows user to scroll through pages of a document, website or even the screen of different applications without lifting a single finger. So how is it possible?

Samsung has developed the Smart Scroll feature that lets you scroll down when you look at the bottom part of the screen and scroll up just by looking at the top part of the screen. This is purely genius since Galaxy S4 users can read their news and review business proposals without having to pause just to scroll down. If you are concerned that the Smart Scroll may be too sensitive and too responsive to your eye movements, you can always adjust its sensitivity from low to high. And if you are really uncomfortable with this, there is a switch off button—but who needs to, right?

Battery life

For some, this may be of their least concern. But it is actually something that smart phone users must consider when choosing for their gadgets since this (literally) powers your applications and processes. In addition to that, most smart phones have the image of having low usage time. But take Samsung Galaxy S4 differently. The latest phone by Samsung is heavily powered with its 2600 mAh capacity—bigger than the average 2300 mAh capacity of most of its competitors. An unlike most smartphones, the battery is actually removable. This will give you more options—rather than just bringing your phone charger—if you are a truly heavy battery life consumer like me. See I use my Smartphone for business mainly through my DropBox, Bloomberg and RingCentral business phone service applications. So with S4 allowing users to change batteries is really a plus for me so I don’t always have to look for a power outlet.

Indeed, Samsung has outdone itself with the Samsung Galaxy S4. If I were you, I’d join the more than 10 million people who are eagerly waiting for their handsets to reach their doorstep.
