Mouse Not Working ? Guide to Using Keyboard Shortcuts

There are many accessories that are useful in operating a computer. An example of an important accessory is mouse. Most of the accessories have considerably short lifespan. Imagine you are in the middle of an important document and your mouse suddenly stops working. What do you do then ? Do you panic and run to the nearest store ? If you’re among those people then this article is for you.

Shown below is a guide to use keyboard shortcuts.

Ctrl+S = To save the document

Ctrl+O = To open a new file or document

Ctrl+I = To use the italic feature

Ctrl+U = To Underline texts

Ctrl+X = To cut the text

Ctrl+C = To copy the text

Ctrl+V = To paste the text

Ctrl+L = To align text to the left

Ctrl+E = To align text to the center

Ctrl+Z = To undo the last action

Ctrl+Y = To redo the last action

Windows+D = To show the desktop

Windows+E = To directly open the windows explorer

Windows+F = To find a doc or file

Alt+Tab = Switch to another open window

Ctrl+T = To open a new tab

Ctrl+Tab = Switch to another tab (in a browser)

Ctrl+F4 = To close a particular tab

F6 = enables you to change the URL in the address bar

Windows+Pause/Break = To directly open the system properties

Alt+F4 or Windows+UU = To shutdown the computer

These are some basic keyboard shortcuts that you need to know if your mouse stops working. When you get used to these shortcuts, you will be able to complete the task without using the mouse.
