Slow Internet Connection – Possible Reasons

A slow internet connection is frustrating especially when you are in a hurry. So why is your internet connection slow ? Below are some possible reasons for your slow internet connection and the ways you can get rid of them.

Speed Test

The first and foremost reason for your slow internet connection is less bandwidth provided by your internet service provider (ISP). You are required to check the speed of your internet connection and contact your ISP incase you are not getting the speed for which you paid.

Temporary Files

One goes on surfing without thinking about the temporary files that are created in your computer whenever a page is opened. The temporary files may be one of the possible reasons for your slow internet connection. So removal of these temporary files is necessary.

 

Multiple Tabs

Many people have the habit of opening all the websites they want to surf at once. This is another possible reason for slow internet. To solve this problem, one should develop a habit of opening one to two sites at the most.

 

Infected Computer

This is the most common problem for a computer as well as internet connection to be slow. When a computer is infected with virus or spyware, most of the bandwidth is eaten up by them. Solution to this problem is scanning the computer regularly.

Outdated Browser

There are many people who still use the internet explorer 5, which is the oldest version. This may be another reason for slow internet. So you need to consider latest and popular browsers like Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox. Both of them are widely used now-a-days.

    Internet connections speeds are slowly improving but still it is slow in India compared to western countries. Though we make many tweaks connection speed doesnt increase much. what u think?

    There are too often, that I found my temporary files took so much memory, especially with ie.

    So i use the cleaner to clear all cache and the temporary files.

    Either multiple tabs or outdated browsers is main reason. I use CCLeaner to clear all the temp files.

    My broadband connection bandwidth is 1mbps but not able to use 256kbps speed.
    I checked out all above mentioned steps but not able to resolve my internet speed problem can anybody help me?

      Contact your ISP for what is the actual speed that you are piayng,then check the speed without any browsing and downloading in your and rest of two computers.Don’t think and compare the speed, just think is it full fills your requirements.I think the speed is enough even you download a large files.
