Samsung vs. Apple – Face Off – Which one is better?

The decent era of smart computing has just begun but the competition amongst the peers seems unrelenting in every aspect. Standing far above the ground on their stands, Samsung Mobiles and Apple Computers are on true face off in the present market scenario. While the second iteration of the Apple’s second generation powered mobile computing is celebrating its legacy for its prolific features, mobile giant Samsung has laid different set of competition.

After playing its legacy of sorts with Apple iPad 1, the company has fastened its belts to cast even lasting spell with the second generation iPad 2. Nevertheless, launch of Samsung Galaxy tab 2 is yet another demand cutting remark! Even though both the gizmos hold their take in more or less similar price tag, making it difficult for the techno buff which one to opt for. But having a hand on either of them would be a treat. Listed below is head to head contrast between the two ends.

Processor

Taking a boost from the fast driven technological era, iPad 2 is outfitted with branded Apple’s dual-core 1GHz A5 processor which is certainly an improvement in its series. The A5 chip swanks a performance that is expected to be better than preceding one’s. Plus, 512 Megabytes DDR2 RAM makes multi-tasking swift and sweet.

Whilst on the other hand, Samsung Tab 2 is powered with 1GHz dual-core processor. However, the bottleneck is its RAM that makes the comparison quite thorny. Coupling 1 Gigabyte of RAM is what makes a slight difference, yet not drawing the conclusion, obviously.

So far for this category, Samsung takes the advantage in terms of its virtual memory.

Display

No wonder the display of the iPad 2 take a rain check as compared to that of other tablets in the same cedar. Braving 9.7-inch backlit-LED IPS scratch resistant screen is certainly the finest in its class display.

On the other hand, Galaxy Tab features 10.1-inch capacitive touch display having 1280 x 800 pixels of screen resolution doesn’t shows up much. The display is approximately half an inch larger than the iPad 2.

Still, iPad 2 takes down an edge in terms of its vivid and sharp display.

Operating systems

The iPad 2 runs on the legendary iOS 4.3. However, the improvement in terms of OS is unswerving, but on minor scales.

On the other side, the Samsung Tab 2’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich proves quite user friendly and simple for the novice users.

Samsung takes up this category in terms of its user-friendly OS. Certainly, Ice Cream Sandwich is Android’s answer to the simple elegance of Apples iOS.

Camera

Apple iPad 2 flaunts 0.7-megapixels snapper at the rear end empowering high-end 720P HD capture capability, and the secondary camera is amazing for the video calling.

Tab 2 on the other hand flaunts striking 8 megapixels camera at the rear, supported by dual LED flash, 1080p Full HD video and a 2 megapixel camera in front.

Samsung make its way to pull up the advantage. 8 megapixels with dual LED flash, makes sheer sense.

Verdict

Alright! The competition between the two peers stand tough and hard, the problem of choice is certainly no wonder. On the one hand, where Samsung is regarded as the king of Android market, the Apple’s iOS dictate its own legacy. Samsung is regarded as the pioneer of all innovation; Apple takes up as the best companion. So, should you choose Apple or Samsung? The decision is not easy!

I have owned an iPhone for a few years now. I never did upgrade to the iPhone 5 when it came out, I still have the 4s. My wife owns a Samsung phone. I have to admit this, I LOVE her phone. It is smooth, attractive, and fast. I’m tired of the iphone. Siri has lost it’s new novelty likeability, as I never use that feature any longer. My next phone purchase will be a Samsung
