Hi All
Please let me know whether Samsung Chat 527 is a good option if I am most concerned only about 2 features : 3G and GPS.
1). How is the speed of browsing using 3G ? 2). Any issues with phone like hangs / heating up during call / slow processing OR anything like that ?
The point is that my bugdet is only around 7k-8k.. and my priority i 3G and GPS… so any helpful comments please…….

If your priority is 3G then this phone is pretty good for you as it offers upto 7.2 Mbps speed … No issues of the phone getting hanged, heating up..etc is reported yet !!

I really appreciate your effort to provide me a very helpful feedback for the phone. Actually I was looking for any inputs all over the internet, but did not get any help. Then I came across this forum and got the valuable feedback about 3G. Thanks a lot for that.
Now I am relaxed about 3G feature here….
Just 1 more point : Can you please provide feedback / your review on the GPS service also ? I mean : 1). As of good 3G service, Is GPS service also good in this phone ? Is it fast or average (even avg. is ok) or slow (not good) ?
2). I have never used GPS earlier. Does not know much….. Are the maps / navigation clearly visible on the screen ?

GPS service is average in this phone… As the phone is a budgeted one, you can’t expect much from this !! But there are no negative reviews about the phone’s GPS

And one more thing I dont see GPS in application or in settings. My guess is that it doesnt have GPS. Like all other samsung mobiles this too has compatibility issues. Most of the jar games dont work and “free” samsung apps cost you Rs 50. Frankly they are not worth it. WiFi range is very low. The phone is not themeable. There is no “conversation” view like in its predecessor. I mightly disappointed with this phone. Absolute now support from samsung whatsover. This is gonna be my last samsung mobile. Pleas dont buy this crap! PLEASE! Buy a nokia mobile which is more compatible and reliable.

Just a general query : Can all the phones that run internet service (2g, 3g) be connected to a laptop (and PC) and access the 2g, 3g internet on laptop, through that phone ? Basically, my purpose to buy this phone is to use the 3G service on my laptop through this phone. Will it work good ? or any issues ? I have Toshiba laptop (satellite series) with Windows 7 Ultimate version. Just want to check this point before buying the phone. I am new to the field of SmartPhones, that’s why only I am asking all these questions. (sorry 🙂 )

So, you’re not provided with Samsung Kies installation CD that is used to connect phone to PC !! Alternatively you can download it online…Just google for it with your model number

To play youtube videos just open your phones browser – go to youtube, search for the video and play it …Hope this helps !! Consider checking the camera settings to switch to front camera ..

This is worst phone ever.
On downloading issue it’s own samsung aps site is not supporting. On internet issue this is worst phone ever. No hindi sms support. it’s optical pointer is worst while browsing. web page font view is too small if anyone having eye issue they cannot surf the net properly.
This phone even not accepting username and passwords on any site from any net provider. i have checked on airtel and idea both. only on chating issue you can buy this phone but there are already cheap chat phones are available like corby series and other chat series. no menu support for front camera. you can use front camera by typing code *#0*# then 8.

no gps(admin got it wrong).front camera not for photos,maybe video chat(*#0*# and 8 puts it in test mode)internet connection to laptop can be used using proprietary windows 7 dial up and vpn network settings(phone has modem but kies software does not use it).i could not find net connection wizard in kies but windows 7 connection wizard connected succesfully
