Tahiti – A Traveler’s Paradise

Tahiti, a magnificent island in French Polynesia formed from volcanic activity a long time ago, today offers infinity of both beautiful natural sights and man-made sources of fun. All of this made it one of the most popular travel destinations in the whole world. There are many reasons why everyone should visit this divine destination and here you can find only some of them, since no words can describe the things you can find in Tahiti.

Find a place to stay

Probably the most interesting places to spend your nights are the overwater bungalows that are actually Tahiti’s invention. Just imagine trying to fall asleep listening to the soothing sound of the calm water and light waves, watching the colorful fish through the glass floor or waking up to the smell of a lovely breakfast delivered in a traditional boat. Incredible, isn’t it? There are luxurious hotels, as well, if you are not attracted by the idea of bungalows but if that is the case, be sure that you would be missing a lot.

Local food

The traditional food is something you must not miss while in Tahiti. The local specialties, taste really, really good, so do not be misled by the menu. You can often see some strange meals and weird combinations of various foods, but it is much better than it sounds. For example, one of the most famous meals of Tahiti’s cuisine is, believe it or not, raw tuna sprinkled with coconut milk with the addition of some vegetables and it tastes absolutely amazing, so be sure to try at least this one. If you want to spend a whole day testing Tahitian food, do it on Sunday, because that is the day when they bake dishes in the well-known Tahitian oven.

Locations to visit

Tahiti is definitely a place where you can never get bored; therefore you can never get enough of this paradise island. Also, you will probably never experience exactly everything it offers, but there are some must-do and must-see things, which you should focus on. For instance, the local Papeete public market with over 200 stands selling products from nearby islands from 4 A.M. until 6 P.M.

There you can find anything from exotic fruits, such as vanilla or mangos, to black pearls, phenomenal flowers or fish. Another marvelous location is the natural aquarium where you can dive among all sorts of fish, but if you like the real deal, there is the option of snorkeling in the sea and seeing the fish swim in their natural habitat surrounded by an unbelievably charming coral reef. If you are not absolutely sure where to go and what to do next, the best solution is to go on a guided Safari Visit or visit some of the renowned museums, because you do not want to waste a single moment in Tahiti and these tours are always amazing.
